One Run Not Enough for Suns

The Greenville Drive had to overcome a good performance from Hagerstown pitcher Joel Peterson to claim a 2-1 win at Municipal Stadium. Peterson went 8.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Eli Uribe, the winner, improved to 3-3. He held Hagerstown to 1 run on 6 hits over 6.2 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Jake Schafer got the save, his 12th in 16 chances.
The Drive got a big at-bat from designated hitter Nick Soltis. For the game, Soltis was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Greenville a 2-1 lead.
"Tough loss," said Hagerstown manager Chris Schneider. "This one will sting for a while."
Greenville is 6th in the Southern Division with a record of 38-52.
