Greensboro Grasshoppers starter Eric Nieto pitched well against the Charleston RiverDogs at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, leading his team to a win, 3-2. Manny Custodio got credit for the win, improving to 3-7. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. Despite the win, the Grasshoppers have a lousy 29-61 record.

Greensboro used a timely hit from Andy Kops to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Grasshoppers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"The key for me has just been attacking the zone and hitting my spots. When I'm throwing strikes and not falling behind in counts, those are the days when I pitch really good," said Nieto.
