Greenville turned a good effort from starter Alberto Murguia into a win over the Columbia Fireflies at Fluor Field at the West End. The Drive won the game, 6-1. With the win, the Drive improved to 45-45.

Ivan Galvez had a big 2-run home run for the Drive in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Greenville leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a splitter from D.J. Adams, who is tied for 3rd in the SAL in innings pitched with 115.2, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Drive on top, 3-0.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Greenville skipper Joey Many.
