Intimidators K-O BlueClaws, 2-0
|
The Kannapolis Intimidators took Lakewood pitcher Josh Thompson's best shot and still were able to claim a win at First Energy Park. The final score had Kannapolis getting past the BlueClaws, 2-0. Thompson went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 3. Austin Sylvestre picked up the win in relief for Kannapolis, while Josh Thompson took the loss. Kannapolis, at 48-43, occupies third place in the Northern Division.
Kannapolis used the hitting of Mike Henderson to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Intimidators on top, 2-0. For the game, Henderson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We won," said Henderson. "But they made us earn it."
