The Asheville Tourists converted a terrific effort from starter Tony Cotto into a win over the West Virginia Power at Appalachian Power Park. The Tourists won the game by a final score of 1-0. The Tourists improved their record to 57-34 by beating West Virginia.

The Tourists got a big at-bat from second baseman Bill Peyton. For the game, Peyton went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Asheville a 1-0 lead.

"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Cotto.
