Crawdads Bridle Braves, 4-2
|
Ricardo Campos, who is tied for 7th in the SAL in holds with 3, had a strong outing for the Hickory Crawdads against the Rome Braves at L.P. Frans Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Campos, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Earning the save was Mike Nunn. He's now cashed in 3 of 5 save opportunities.
The Crawdads got a big at-bat from center fielder Jake Dunn. For the game, Dunn was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 13th double of the season gave Hickory a 2-0 lead.
Dunn called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."
The Crawdads now have a record of 44-48 with the win over Rome.
