GreenJackets Beaten, 6-1, by Legends

Lexington got a strong outing from Mark Ashford as the Legends defeated the Augusta GreenJackets, 6-1, at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Miguel Alfaro got credit for the save for Lexington. It was his 1st of the year. Lexington, at 66-29, occupies first place in the Southern Division.
Anthon Bakker had a big run-scoring double for the Legends in the top of the second inning. With Lexington leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from Mike Kelley, who is tied for 10th in the SAL with a 2.54 ERA, and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Legends ahead, 2-0.
"You want to go out there and put up zeroes, that's the main thing," said Ashford. "You don't want to get caught in one of those back-and-forth, run-for-run games."
