Kannapolis registered a win at L.P. Frans Stadium by beating the Hickory Crawdads, 5-3. Pitcher Gabriel Tauke was one reason why the Intimidators triumphed. Kannapolis reliever Jorge Gomez got the win, raising his record to 8-0. Orestes Abulhe was tagged with the loss. Kannapolis now sports a record of 65-31.

Kannapolis took a 5-3 lead on Al Gatlin's 8th triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Gatlin hit in the top of the eighth, left Hickory pitcher Orestes Abulhe visibly frustrated.

"We scored more than enough runs this time," said Kannapolis manager Brian Turek. "Now watch. The next game we'll probably struggle to get a base hit."
