Fireflies Pick Up 4-3 Win
|
The Columbia Fireflies bested the Asheville Tourists, 4-3, at McCormick Field. Alex Wray was one of the standouts. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Matt Long recorded the save for Columbia, his 7th of the season. Columbia, at 61-35, occupies second place in the Southern Division.
Columbia grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Wray hit a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Fireflies out in front, 3-1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Wray. "And not try to do too much."
