9-1 Loss Extends Greensboro Losing Streak
Delmarva and Greensboro got after it at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.

Delmarva right fielder Jamari Burney helped his team beat the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 9-1. Burney went 3 for 4 for the Shorebirds. The third-place Shorebirds now have a win-loss record of 52-44.

Brooke Rutherford had a big 2-run double for the Shorebirds in the bottom of the second inning. With Delmarva leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Ryan Burke and swatted a double to left. It was his 21st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Shorebirds ahead, 3-0.

"This game will humble you at times and you've got to buck up and deal with it," said Greensboro manager Josh Lex.
