Greensboro Funk Reaches 10 Games
|
The Lexington Legends downed the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 6-1, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The Legends were led by Daniel Pinedo. He went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Lexington now has a record of 61-36 with the win.
Lexington grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Pinedo, who is tied for 5th in the SAL in hits with 103, hit a 2-run double. His 23rd double of the season put the Legends out in front, 2-0.
"Winning a ballgame these days," losing manager Bill Taylor told reporters, "is harder than big game hunting without a gun."
