Junco Shines in 7-3 Greensboro Win
|
Benefiting from Alex Junco's productive game, the Greensboro Grasshoppers downed the Lakewood BlueClaws, 7-3. Junco was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Grasshoppers. Getting the save was Manny Custodio, his 3rd. After today's action, Greensboro sits at 30-68, while Lakewood falls to 43-55.
Junco contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Greensboro in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Junco took a fastball from Miguel Estevez and stroked the home run to left-center. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Grasshoppers to leap in front, 2-1.
"If it's down the middle," said Junco, "you might as well hit it."
