Hickory Downed, 7-4, by Shorebirds
|
Led by Johnny Neubauer, the Delmarva Shorebirds downed the Hickory Crawdads, 7-4, in 10 innings. Neubauer was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Shorebirds. Dave Escobar notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3.2 innings. His record now sits at 5-5. Today's win puts Delmarva at 60-39, while Hickory falls to 56-43.
Neubauer had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-0 fastball from Christopher S Humphreys, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Shorebirds a 7-3 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Neubauer.
"We're playing good baseball. We're playing aggressive baseball," said Neubauer.
