GreenJackets Deal RiverDogs 3-0 Setback

The Augusta GreenJackets racked up a win at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, bumping off the Charleston RiverDogs, 3-0. Brian McQuain, who started for Augusta, pitched effectively for his team. McQuain, now 4-5, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. At 50-49, Augusta is in 4th place in the Southern Division.
The GreenJackets got a big at-bat from left fielder Jeff Stelma. For the game, Stelma was 2-4 with 2 doubles. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 28th double of the season gave Augusta a 1-0 lead.
"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said McQuain.
