Hagerstown Suns starter Ruben Gutiorroz hurled his team past the Lakewood BlueClaws, 7-1. Gutiorroz got the win, improving to 8-8. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run.

The Suns got a big hit from third baseman Omar Fearson. Facing Lakewood pitcher Mike Lamb in the bottom of the fifth, Fearson pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 7th home run of the season put the Suns ahead, 4-1.
