Pitcher John Roche was rock solid in helping the Kannapolis Intimidators beat the Greenville Drive, 2-1. The winning pitcher was Roche, now 5-0. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 6. Dave Yanes earned the save, his 10th in 12 tries.

Kannapolis used a clutch at-bat from Andy Cook to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Intimidators ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I just trusted my stuff," said Roche.

With the win, Kannapolis upped its record to 58-42.
