Braves Rebuff Fireflies, 3-2
|
Starting pitcher Brian Sells took care of business, helping the Rome Braves stifle the Columbia Fireflies, 3-2. The 4th-place Braves now have a 5-game winning streak.
Rome relied on the hitting of Lenny Murdoch to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Braves on top, 3-1. For the game, Murdoch had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Getting the win feels nice," said Murdoch. "More importantly, I had a good game."
