The Delmarva Shorebirds downed the Lakewood BlueClaws, 6-1, at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Stellar pitching by Jeremiah Seawright had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the SAL with a 2.64 ERA, handcuffed his opponent all game. Delmarva, at 65-35, is 3 games up in the Northern Division.

Seawright was the winner. He's now 10-10, after putting the Lakewood offense in a vise grip. Over 8 innings, he gave up 1 run on 4 hits, while racking up 10 Ks.

"Jeremiah was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Delmarva manager Tom Phillips.
