With Late Score, Intimidators Beat BlueClaws
Kannapolis beat Lakewood in a rain-soaked ballgame.

Lakewood second baseman Jonathan Rodriguez had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Rodriguez was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, even as Kannapolis beat the BlueClaws, 5-4. The 14-88 BlueClaws have lost 13 consecutive games.

Joey Simpson was the walk-off hero for Kannapolis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Intimidators shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We're trending in the wrong direction," said Lakewood manager Steve Reinke.
