Legends Deal Fireflies 3-1 Setback
In a tight game between the Lexington Legends and the Columbia Fireflies, pitcher Steve Walat was terrific on the mound. The Lexington right-hander helped his team to the 3-1 win. Walat yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 8. His record improves to 3-5. The Legends now own a record of 45-57.

Jimmy Redman had a big run-scoring triple for the Legends in the bottom of the third inning. With Lexington leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Willie Romo and swatted a triple to right. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Legends ahead, 2-0.

"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Walat.
