Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Greensboro Grasshoppers got the win.

Greensboro right-hander Perry Stoll helped his team edge Lakewood by the score of 3-2. Stoll kept the opposing lineup in check. Stoll, who is tied for 6th in the SAL in quality starts with 13, went the distance for Greensboro. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits.

Greensboro took the lead, 3-2, on Manny Ventura's 6th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Lakewood pitcher Bill Klasing in the top of the eighth.

"We certainly don't want to get used to losing," said losing manager Steve Reinke.

The misery continues for the BlueClaws, who have now dropped 14 in a row.
