Losing Trend Continues for Greensboro
|
Hagerstown turned a good effort from starter Matt Holman into a win over the Greensboro Grasshoppers at NewBridge Bank Park. The Suns won the game, 6-2. Holman yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 6, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-0. Now 27-76, Greensboro has lost 14 in a row.
Hagerstown used the timely hitting of Jason Madsen to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Suns on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're not winning games right now," said Greensboro manager Josh Lex. "But I'm not going to denigrate the effort by the guys."
