Shorebirds Get Clutch Win Versus Greenville
Greenville second baseman Bob Larson pounded Delmarva Shorebirds pitchers at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, but it was not enough to keep the Drive from falling, 8-7. Larson slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Delmarva's record now stands at 54-50, placing them 4th in the Northern Division.

The decisive blow was delivered by Matt Valencia in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Casas to win the game for Delmarva. The home crowd went nuts.

"This wasn't a good win," said Valencia. "It was a great win."
