Municipal Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Hagerstown Suns and Rome Braves.
Dan Saltzman was on the winning side of a pitcher's duel at Municipal Stadium. In fact, the Rome Braves right-hander was instrumental in his team's 3-1 victory over the Hagerstown Suns. Bob Garza picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 5-5. Alex Muzquiz suffered the loss.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Dan Larkin? The 23-year old center fielder Larkin stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Rome up, 3-1. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Dan's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Rome manager Tim Helfrich.
The Braves saw their record improve to 52-52.
