Grasshoppers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Kannapolis, 3-2
The Greensboro Grasshoppers knocked off the Kannapolis Intimidators, 3-2, in South Atlantic League action at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. Greensboro pitcher and Acworth, Georgia, native Eric Nieto had an outstanding performance. Greensboro reliever John LaBella was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Ryan Bridges took the loss. The win gives the Grasshoppers a record of 31-73.

Dan Savage had a direct impact on the outcome. Savage contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Greensboro up, 3-2.

"Eric gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Greensboro skipper Josh Lex.
