The Asheville Tourists knocked off the Columbia Fireflies, 7-6, at Spirit Communications Park. It took 10 innings. Aaron Cruse was a prime reason Asheville won. The third baseman was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The first-place Tourists hiked their record to 63-42.

Cruse had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 2-1 splitter from Justin Meyer, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Tourists a 7-5 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Cruse.

"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Jarrod Dryman.
