The Greensboro Grasshoppers topped the Kannapolis Intimidators, 4-3, in South Atlantic League action at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Greensboro pitcher and Higüey, Dominican Republic, native Antonio Lopez. Lopez, now 2-6, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Their 32-73 record puts the Grasshoppers last in the Northern Division.

Greensboro used a clutch at-bat from Jonathan Ludington to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Grasshoppers ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Lopez.
