With 6-1 Win, Crawdads Improve to 55-51
|
Hickory took on Lexington in front of a lively crowd.
Hickory Crawdads starter Gabe Robles pitched his team past the Lexington Legends, 6-1. Robles, now 6-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.
The Legends had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Crawdads going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old first baseman Roberto Zubiate came to the plate. Zubiate hit a 2-run double on a 0-1 cutter from Lexington hurler Oreiby LaCroix. It was Zubiate's 9th double of the year.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Robles.
The Crawdads improve their record to 55-51 with the win over Lexington.
