Delmarva got a strong outing from Mike Carey as the Shorebirds defeated the Asheville Tourists, 3-2, at McCormick Field. Picking up his 9th save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Jaime Lipscomb. The second-place Shorebirds now sit at 68-38.

Delmarva used the hitting of Ryan Straub to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Shorebirds on top, 2-0. For the game, Straub had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We hit some balls hard and didn't get rewarded for it," said Asheville manager Jarrod Dryman.
