Greensboro Hot Streak Continues with 2-1 Win
|
McCormick Field hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
The Greensboro Grasshoppers racked up a win at McCormick Field, bumping off the Asheville Tourists, 2-1. Tyler Stegman, who started for Greensboro, pitched effectively for his team. Earning his 18th save of the year was Jon Loli.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Brian Hendley? The Greensboro right fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Grasshoppers on top, 2-0. For the game, Hendley had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"We'll enjoy this ride as long as it lasts," said Grasshoppers manager Ryan Parkins.
Greensboro currently is in 5th place in the Northern Division at 41-65.
