Power Throttled by Braves, 3-1
|
Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Braves beat the Power.
In a well-pitched game between the Rome Braves and the West Virginia Power, pitcher Jason Johnson was fantastic. The Rome right-hander helped his team secure the win, 3-1. Wibowo Kartodirdjo, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Robby Rios was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Rome. In the bottom of the second, with the teams deadlocked, 0-0, Rios delivered for the Braves. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Rome on top, 1-0.
Johnson told the Rome Times: "I was born for the big stage."
The Power, now 33-72, have lost 5 straight.
