Tourists Pin 2-1 Loss on Delmarva
|
The Asheville Tourists claimed a close win over the Delmarva Shorebirds, due in large part to Michio Ono. The Asheville right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. Ono, the winner, moves to 5-5. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. The Tourists now own a record of 41-67.
In the bottom of the first, 21-year old shortstop Jorge Martinez hit a 2-run home run. The 3rd home run of the season for the Asheville shortstop put the Tourists on top, 2-0.
"That's what we get paid to do, is put up zeroes," said Ono after the game.
