Shorebirds Rally to Nose Past West Virginia
|
Delmarva pitcher Mike Hindman did his part in helping his team beat the West Virginia Power, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. John Deaton nailed down the save. The first-place Shorebirds now sit at 71-37.
Delmarva used a timely hit from Wade Riegel to get the win. The shortstop stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Shorebirds ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Said losing manager Ken Dugles: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."
