Loss Tarnishes Fine Effort by Dillard
The Hagerstown Suns could not turn a fine performance from shortstop Bob Dillard into a win. Instead, the Lexington Legends prevailed, 9-7. Dillard was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The win was credited to Sheldon Jefferson in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Eric Kilby took the loss. With the victory, the Legends record stands at 59-49.

Alex Dorsey took Hagerstown hurler Eric Kilby deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 3-run home run put the Legends on top, 9-7. In all, Dorsey had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 5.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Danny Ortiz said.
