Hickory pitcher Andy Schurmann gave the Shorebirds all they could handle, but in the end, Delmarva left L.P. Frans Stadium with a win, 2-1. Schurmann allowed 1 run on 6 hits over 8 innings. The Shorebirds are now 52-58, while the Crawdads fall to 56-54.

Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Jon Baker's at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth was crucial. The Delmarva designated hitter hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
