Drive Handle Legends, Grab 2-1 Win

Greenville Drive starter Joe Figgs turned in a top-notch performance against the Lexington Legends at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The result was a win for the Drive, 2-1. Figgs yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 8-10. Picking up his 10th save was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Alexis Cordova.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Drive had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fourth, when shortstop Cody Bower hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Harry Evans and made the score 2-1, Drive. Bower was 1-4.
Bower told a Greenville Today reporter that he was "very happy" with the win.
Greenville is in 4th place in the Southern Division with a record of 52-58.
