Altoona and Reading duked it out and the Curve came out victorious.

Altoona pitcher Nate Lloyd had a large part in his team subduing the Reading Fightin Phils, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Jason Sims snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Justin Hawkins suffered the loss.

Moges Mukanda, who is tied for 9th in the EL in triples with 1, had a direct impact on the outcome. Mukanda contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the ninth inning to put Altoona up, 4-2.

"Nate was locating, throwing all of his pitches," said Altoona manager Gerardo Zarco. "He did a heck of a job."

With the win, Altoona boosts its record to 11-7.
