Martinez Helps Shorebirds Defeat RiverDogs, 17-9
2107 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Charleston RiverDogs.

Danny Martinez was the difference-maker for the Delmarva Shorebirds in what turned into a shootout with the Charleston RiverDogs. Martinez, who is tied for 2nd in the SAL with a .895 OPS, went 4-for-5 in the 17-9 Shorebirds win. With the victory, the Shorebirds record stands at 72-42.

Marco Palacios went 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once against the RiverDogs. With the game tied in the top of the sixth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Delmarva in front, 9-8.

"It was one of those games where both teams were swinging the bat well," Palacios said.
