RiverDogs Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The Charleston RiverDogs faced a tough opponent in West Virginia pitcher Adam Ogden, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park by a final score of 4-3. Ogden went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Charleston reliever Jonathan Wade got the win, raising his record to 3-3. Dave Stearns was tagged with the loss. Phil Martel earned the save for Charleston, his 20th.
Charleston took the lead, 4-3, on Abel Bras's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off West Virginia pitcher Dave Stearns in the bottom of the eighth.
Bras called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
The RiverDogs now own a record of 52-62.
