Asheville pitcher Ruben Velazquez gave the Fireflies all they could handle, but in the end, Columbia left Spirit Communications Park with a win, 2-1. Velazquez allowed 2 runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings. Columbia is now 50-65, Asheville 68-47.
Enrique Molina was 1-3 against the Tourists. With the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Columbia in front, 2-1.
