Braves Earn 4-3 Win Versus Crawdads
The Hickory Crawdads got a superb performance from pitcher Aaron Michl. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Rome. The Braves won the game, 4-3. Michl threw 8.2 innings of 7-hit ball. Greg Gilbert, credited with the win, is now 12-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. With the win over Hickory, the Braves improved to 70-45.

The Braves were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when pinch hitter Corey Preston turned a first pitch sinker from Aaron Michl into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Rome a thrilling 4-3 win.

Preston said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
