The Hickory Crawdads knocked off the Lexington Legends, 8-1, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Kevin Lloyd was a big reason Hickory won. The shortstop was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Getting the save was Mario Ruiz, his 5th. The Crawdads raised their record to 53-62.

In the top of the second, Lloyd had one of his most important at-bats: a run-scoring single off David Quinones that staked the Crawdads to a 1-0 lead.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Crawdads manager Jordan Castro.
