The Lakewood BlueClaws could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Brad Peluso into a win. Instead, the Greenville Drive prevailed, 4-3. Peluso threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The winner was Greenville reliever Dan Casas, now 7-7. The loser was Pete Cox. Greenville is now 63-53.

Greenville used a timely hit from Jesus Escobar to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Drive ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Escobar. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
