Grasshoppers Take Tight Tango, 3-2
|
The Greensboro Grasshoppers had to weather a strong performance from Hagerstown pitcher Bill Freake before claiming a 3-2 win in 10 innings. Freake went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. The 6th-place Grasshoppers own a record of 33-83.
Greensboro used the timely hitting of Andy Kops to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Grasshoppers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Hagerstown manager Chris Schneider.
