Kannapolis parlayed a decent outing from starter R.J. MacLean into a solid win over the Columbia Fireflies. The final score was 5-2. Picking up the save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Ryan Bridges. With the win over Columbia, the Intimidators improved to 64-53.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Steve Prouty? The 26-year old center fielder Prouty stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Kannapolis up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Getting the win feels nice," said Prouty. "More importantly, I had a good game."
