Late Magic Gets Kannapolis 5-3 Win
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

Despite a great performance by Charleston pitcher Harry Ivey, the Kannapolis Intimidators defeated the RiverDogs by the score of 5-3 at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. Ivey threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Kannapolis reliever Chris Dreiling picked up the win to move to 1-0. Miguel Lepe suffered the loss. Earning his 27th save of the year was Tony Gomez.

John Iglesias, who is tied for 3rd in the SAL with a .385 on-base percentage, aided the Kannapolis cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder drove in one run.

"The team is playing at a high level," said Intimidators manager B.J. Sabol.

Kannapolis leads the Northern Division by 16½ games.
