Extra-Inning Win by Tourists Over Grasshoppers
|
The Asheville Tourists and the Greensboro Grasshoppers played into extra innings before the winner was determined. The Tourists won it, 5-3, in 10 innings. In the game, Asheville center fielder Hans Cabedo went 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Asheville, at 66-54, sits in third place in the Southern Division.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Josh Gerstein? The 23-year old second baseman Gerstein stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Asheville up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I still think this team can play even better," Cabedo told the Asheville Bulletin.
