Nuila Hits for the Cycle
Rich Nuila did everything he could for the Augusta GreenJackets -- literally.

The 22-year-old right fielder hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the GreenJackets, going for the cycle and helping them get past the Hagerstown Suns, 5-4, at Municipal Stadium.

"Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game," Nuila reflected later. "It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat."

In a game headed for the record books, Nuila banged out 4 hits in 4 at-bats and totaled 2 RBI and 1 run scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to "a lot of luck."

"A triple is so hard to hit," he said. "To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it's impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There's a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle."

Rich Nuila singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Matt Norway in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th and doubled in the 7th.

This season, Nuila is hitting .307 with 96 hits, 3 home runs, 27 RBIs, scored 31 runs and played in 90 games.
