Victory Pushes Intimidators Record to 87-33
The Charleston RiverDogs and Kannapolis Intimidators delighted fans at CMC-NorthEast Stadium.

The Kannapolis Intimidators locked up a win at CMC-NorthEast Stadium, knocking off the Charleston RiverDogs, 10-1. On the mound for Kannapolis was left-hander Joe Drake. He played a major role in the triumph. Drake got the win, improving to 14-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run.

The RiverDogs had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Intimidators going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old left fielder Andy Pierce came to the plate. Pierce hit a 2-run double on a 1-2 slider from Charleston hurler Marco Nieves. It was Pierce's 24th double of the year.

"We'll need a much better effort, the next time out," said losing manager Brandon Lacey.

The Intimidators bumped their record to 87-33 with this latest triumph.
