RiverDogs Lose Again, 5-2, to Shorebirds
|
Delmarva parlayed a decent outing from starter Eric Thomas into a solid win over the Charleston RiverDogs. The final score was 5-2. The winner was Thomas. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Kirk Wharton. Chance McGinn got the save, his 4th in 7 chances.
Rocky Hall had a big 3-run home run for the Shorebirds in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Delmarva leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Kirk Wharton and swatted a home run to left. It was his 11th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Shorebirds ahead, 5-0.
"Eric pitched his heart out," said Delmarva manager Tom Phillips.
Charleston's current losing streak is now 6 games.
