Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Greenville Drive and Greensboro Grasshoppers.

Greenville Drive starter David Jones turned in an exceptional performance against the Greensboro Grasshoppers at NewBridge Bank Park, resulting in a Greenville win, 6-0. Jones, now 4-3, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing no runs.

Danny Tamblin helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Drive.

"Our offense was purring," said Greenville manager Joey Many. "Like a well-oiled machine."

At 57-64, the Drive are currently 4th in the Southern Division.
