Jeff Thompson was nothing short of phenomenal for the Kannapolis Intimidators. The 23-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Charleston RiverDogs, 4-0. Thompson, now 3-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Kannapolis is second in the Northern Division with a record of 70-52.

Kannapolis took a 2-0 lead on Jorge Young's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Young hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Charleston pitcher Kevin Goodman visibly frustrated.
