Chad Ammerman had an answer for everything the Greensboro Grasshoppers threw at him today at NewBridge Bank Park. The Columbia center fielder went 5-for-6 in the game to put his name in the record book and put the Fireflies on top, 16-6.

Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Ammerman said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."

Chad Ammerman hit a solo-shot off Jason Richardson in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Gil Soto in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Gil Soto in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Ammerman is presently batting .222 with 12 home runs, 25 runs scored and 31 RBIs. His OBP is .288.
