Shorebirds Top RiverDogs, 1-0
|
The Delmarva Shorebirds relied on a great performance from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Adrian Scudder to beat the Charleston RiverDogs, 1-0, in 10 innings at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Edwin Franco snagged the win in relief. He goes to 9-10 on the season. Bobby Hogsett suffered the loss. The win makes Delmarva 55-70.
The Shorebirds got a clutch hit from right fielder Jim McGee. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Shorebirds.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Delmarva manager Tom Phillips.
