Lexington Dealt 5-3 Defeat

The Greenville Drive picked up a win at Fluor Field at the West End, knocking off the Lexington Legends, 5-3. On the mound for Greenville was left-hander Sergio Carrizales. He played a key role in the triumph. Carrizales yielded 2 runs over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 12-9. The loss makes Lexington 66-59.
The Legends had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Drive going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old catcher Nick Burch came to the plate. Burch hit a 3-run home run on a 1-0 changeup from Lexington hurler Bob Carter. It was Burch's 4th home run of the year.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Burch told the Greenville Herald. "Whatever it takes."
